Kristersson: S's attitude is irresponsible

The Social Democrats' Magdalena Andersson wants the Moderates to shut the door to the parties on the extreme right-wing in the European Parliament. A "reckless attitude", replies Ulf Kristersson (M) in SVT's Agenda. It's an unrealistic view, says the Prime Minister to TT afterwards.

Social Democratic Party's Magdalena Andersson wants the Moderate Party to shut the door to parties on the far-right edge in the European Parliament.

A "responsible attitude", replies Ulf Kristersson (M) in SVT's Agenda.

The debate between party leaders in Agenda, a week from the EU election day, can be summarized as low-key and somewhat in agreement.

However, when it comes to which party groups one can cooperate with in the European Parliament, it got heated.

Magdalena Andersson, whose party group has shut the door to collaborations with the far-right, accuses Ulf Kristersson of wanting to "break a winning concept". The groups that S and M belong to have had a close cooperation on the European level.

Andersson does not want to see "a Tidö agreement in Europe". Kristersson called Andersson's attitude "irresponsible" and emphasized, among other things, that the migration pact would never have become a reality if one had not cooperated with Italy, which takes in many migrants.

He accuses S of focusing on political play issues such as "who gets to talk to whom".

Andersson has a different opinion.
