17 concert seasons have become for the Garage Project Hammenhög. But this year's program will be the last for the popular live scene on Österlen.

It's time to tie up this bag, says co-founder Camilla Backman.

In the summer of 2009, Camilla Backman and Dag Nemeth opened to the public in an old car dealership's garage in the Scanian village of Hammenhög.

One of the first bands to visit the Garage Project Hammenhög was the prog legends Träd, gräs och stenar. And then it rolled on. The list of all those who have played in the garage over the years could serve as a foundation for budding record collectors with a craving for mind-expanding experiences.

"Extremely grateful"

Almost every summer, we've taken ourselves by the scruff of the neck and wondered "how have we managed to pull this off?", says Camilla Backman.

And after every summer, "how will we be able to top this?" It's been the feeling year after year, and we're so extremely grateful for all the artists who want to come and play.

Summer 2024 is no exception. Annika Norlin & Jonas Teglund, Mariam the Believer, Mattias Alkberg, and Shout Out Louds are some of the names on the schedule.

But after the season, it will be quiet in the garage. Camilla Backman says it feels like she and Nemeth have driven the project "overtime".

It's time for a well-deserved rest.

We're incredibly happy and proud of what we've done, but we also feel that it's time to tie up this bag. I would just like to be free one summer, because it's an incredible amount of work and we're running this idealistically, says Backman.

Overwhelmed with love

Since it became known that the Garage Project is shutting down, the reactions have poured in on social media. Camilla Backman says that she and Dag Nemeth are overwhelmed.

The love we're getting now, it's completely crazy, it's completely insane.

Here is the program for the Garage Project Hammenhög's final season:

6/7: Terra

13/7: Oscar Zia + Klaudy

17/7: Bror Gunnar Jansson + Moreau

20/7: Annika Norlin & Jonas Teglund

26/7: Moto Boy

2/8: Mattias Alkberg

7/8: Mariam the Believer

9/8: Shout Out Louds
