A 37-year-old man has been sentenced to eight years and nine months in prison for extensive drug-related crimes. The man can, according to Expressen, be linked to the upper echelons of the now-defunct Foxtrot network.
The man has been convicted, among other things, of aggravated drug offences and aggravated money laundering, as he had a central role in drug sales, including on the dark web site Flugsvamp 4.0.
The payment was made to multiple accounts, and in some cases via a shell bank, according to the police, in order to conceal that the money came from drug sales.
A 50-year-old man who acted as a courier for the 37-year-old has been sentenced to six years and nine months in prison, for aggravated drug offences and aggravated child pornography.
"The investigation clearly shows how organised crime exploits the financial systems to hide and channel their criminal profits," says Sofie Holmqvist, deputy head of the investigative unit at Noa, in a comment on the police's website.
The men were convicted despite their denials.
