A man in his 40s has died after a workplace accident in a wind farm in Roknäs, just outside Piteå.
The accident occurred on Friday morning, but the incident is still being investigated. According to SOS Alarm to SVT Norrbotten, the person was crushed in one of the wind turbines' cranes.
An investigation of the accident site is ongoing, and then we will hold interviews to find out what really happened. So I shouldn't preempt the investigation and reveal any details, says Maria Linné, police press spokesperson.
The man was a foreign national and his relatives have been informed.
The incident will now be investigated by the national unit for environmental and labor cases.
