Masterful Rosengård took their 19th consecutive win

The winning streak continues for Rosengård in the women's top division. After 19 consecutive wins, 4–0 away against Kif Örebro, the question is whether the team can go undefeated in the series. We haven't put that much focus on it, says defender Emma Jansson.

One concern existed, however, in the 19th win in as many matches. Top scorer Olivia Holdt, 13 goals so far, limped off in the first half after a blow to her left foot/leg.

By then, the team had already taken the lead through Bayern München loanee, Japanese player Momoko Tanikawa, who scored her 12th goal of the season.

Before the first half was over, and just after Holdt had left, Mai Kadowaki made it 2–0 after Rebecca Knaak had headed down.

In the second half, Emilia Larsson scored two goals and the final result was 4–0.

"Don't understand"

The winning streak is something the players themselves have a hard time understanding after last year's weak season, where Rosengård finished seventh.

We've talked about it, we don't understand how we've been so good, but we must continue to be humble and work hard, nothing comes for free, says Emma Jansson to Viaplay.

And as for going unbeaten, Jansson doesn't think it's a topic of discussion in the team:

We haven't put that much focus on it, we take it one match at a time.

Umeå IK almost went unbeaten in the golden years of 2005 and 2006, when the team won 21 matches and drew one out of 22.

Rosengård also won 21 matches in connection with the SM gold in 2022, but then in 26 matches. There were three draws and two losses in addition to the wins.

Gold party to come

The SM gold is almost certain. Second-placed Häcken is 11 points behind, and third-placed Hammarby 12 points behind. With one more match played, too.

Häcken won away against IFK Norrköping with 1–0 after an early goal by Alva Selerud.

In the relegation battle, Kif Örebro is in a qualifying spot and has a one-point lead over AIK below the relegation line. The Stockholm team lost away to Kristianstad with 1–4.

Trelleborg is stuck without a win.
