A man in his 30s deceived himself to over four million kronor by pretending to be a woman on various dating apps. Now he is sentenced to prison for three years and six months, reports SVT Västernorrland.
The man is convicted of fraud and gross fraud against seven people, men and women, between 2019 and 2023.
He is said to have gotten the individuals to transfer large sums of money, among other things, by threatening to leak nude photos or that he would take his own life if he didn't get money. In other cases, he is said to have deceived the victims into believing it was about loans.
According to the man's lawyer, he has had a gambling addiction. He has previously been sentenced to prison for extortion and fraud with similar methods.
