Interest in studying at universities or colleges remains high. More than 252,000 people have applied to the courses and programs starting next spring semester. This is 5.4 percent more than last year.

According to the Swedish Council for Higher Education (UHR), the increase is largest in the age group 35 years and older: 8.3 percent. Among the youngest, up to and including 24 years, the increase is 7.8 percent.

The law program at Stockholm University was the program that attracted the most first-choice applicants: 1,674 people. A range of courses, from labor law to the basics of AI, each had hundreds of first-choice applicants.

On Nobel Day, December 10, applicants will receive their first admission notices.
