The battery company Northvolt's chairman Jim Hagemann Snabe has been on sick leave since February. He has no plans to return to the board, writes Di.se based on an interview in the Danish Børsen.

Jim Hagemann Snabe was struck by acute blood poisoning at the beginning of the year after he ripped open a wound on his leg during a swim.

Liver, kidneys, all organs stopped functioning. The doctor said afterwards that if I had arrived one hour later, I would have died, he says to Børsen.

Hagemann Snabe tells that the accident has made him see things in a new way and opens up for leaving the board permanently.

It is not meaningful for Northvolt that I come back after so many months without being active. Moreover, they have a skilled chairman who was elected directly after my accident.

Tom Johnstone has stepped in as chairman for Northvolt since February this year.
