The American tech giant Apple's deliveries of iPhone mobile phones in China increased by 40 percent in May compared to the previous month. The increase is connected to significant discounts on the phones.
The increase was significantly larger than the 13 percent increase in deliveries of foreign mobile phones in China in May.
The iPhone boost in May follows an increase of more than 50 percent in April and means that the increase in delivery volumes that has been ongoing since March continues.
Apple and the company's Chinese resellers have, after losing market shares to arch-rival Huawei since the turn of the year, lowered prices in a series of offers that stretched well into June.
