The Swedish Association of Health Professionals has requested damages of at least 150 million kronor, as they believe that protective work was used incorrectly by the regions during the strike.

This is written by the newspaper Dagens Samhälle.

If overtime was required during the time of the Swedish Association of Health Professionals' overtime blockade and strike, the employer had the opportunity to order protective work. This would apply to acute situations, for example, to complete an operation.

However, according to the Swedish Association of Health Professionals, the regions used the opportunity also on other occasions.

This has resulted in approximately 2,000 disputes arising around the country, according to Dagens Samhälle. A total of 12 regions are affected, and most disputes are in Dalarna, where over 300 dispute claims have been made.

The Swedish Association of Health Professionals has requested damages of 70,000 kronor per member and occasion, plus an additional 70,000 kronor if the union believes that the employer has neglected their duty to negotiate each decision on protective work.

The total damages amount to at least 150 million kronor.

The newspaper also writes that the union and employer must come to an agreement on the disputes in local negotiations within four months. Otherwise, they can be referred to central negotiations and subsequently become cases for the Labour Court.
