Tønseth has plans to crown a solid skiing career by chasing medals at the World Championship on home turf in Trondheim this winter.
But now the Norwegian announces that the situation looks anything but bright, after being struck by a bacterium called mycoplasma.
I suddenly got a high fever and could barely get out of bed. It goes straight to the lungs, and it's not very favorable, says Tønseth.
Some people who have gotten mycoplasma have been forced to end their careers. Others recover fairly quickly.
Right now, I'm in a really bad spot. Now I'm very far from the World Championship.
The Skiing World Championship in Trondheim takes place from February 26 to March 9, 2025.
