Several people have been killed in Israeli attacks in southern Gaza Strip on Saturday. According to officials in the Hamas-ruled area, more than 30 people have been killed.
In an air strike against the city of Khan Yunis in southern Gaza, eleven people were killed, including two children, all from the same family, according to Nasser Hospital in Khan Yunis.
The hospital has received a total of 33 dead in three separate attacks in and around Khan Yunis. Three more deaths are reported from another attack earlier on Saturday morning. A large number of people are also reported to have been killed in an air raid that hit a road in southern Gaza.
Israel reports that three Israeli reserve officers were killed in Gaza the day before. Two were killed when a bomb exploded, and the third in a firefight, says IDF spokesperson Daniel Hagari.
Meanwhile, talks about a ceasefire are underway in Cairo, Egypt's capital, where Hamas, labeled as a terrorist organization, has stated that they will not participate.
