Within two nights, hundreds of drones and robots have been launched from Russia and threatened large parts of Ukraine.
At the same time, a new front may be about to be created in the Kursk region of Russia, after Ukraine launched its surprise offensive there three weeks ago.
But that the Russian attacks would be a response to the Ukrainian offensive, military expert Joakim Paasikivi does not believe.
"Intensified bombing campaign"

We have such a desire to see patterns that we always look for them. But the pattern that exists is a Russian ambition to destroy the Ukrainian power grid to make Ukraine industrially and economically devastated.
The Russian ambition is to win the war, that doesn't change anything.
As on several previous occasions, Russia has targeted the already heavily strained Ukrainian energy supply. In several places, including the capital Kiev, the power was cut off on Monday and major power companies in the country introduced emergency stops in power supply.

Ever since 2022, they have been trying to make the population not have any heating and no functioning life in the cities. This could in turn create a refugee wave. I believe that ambition is still there.
