The Azerbaijan GP was a real thriller with high entertainment value.

After McLaren's Oscar Piastri took the lead from Ferrari's Charles Leclerc during the 20th lap, while Red Bull's Sergio Pérez was closing in, it was a fight for the win all the way to the checkered flag.

The three cars were within two seconds of each other for several laps, but with 13 laps to go, Pérez saw his two top competitors pull away further and further.

Instead, it became a duel at the front, and Leclerc challenged Piastri on several occasions without finding an opening to pass.

The Australian held on in the end, and the big drama was about the remaining podium positions.

With just two laps to go, there was enormous drama between the two Ferrari cars and Sergio Pérez. It ended with a big crash, where Sergio Pérez and Carlos Sainz were the big losers.

As a result, George Russell climbed up to third place, and Leclerc retained his second place.

Two drivers who were never involved in the top fight were overall leader Max Verstappen and second-placed Lando Norris.

The Dutchman had to settle for fifth place in the race on Baku's streets, but despite that, he didn't lose more than three points overall. Norris finished fourth after the crash, and the Dutchman now leads by 59 points.
