After sitting stuck on a mountain side in Norway for over half a day, the rescue team managed to bring down the two climbers, a man in his 60s and a woman in her 50s.
The rescue operation finally reached its goal in the middle of Friday, after earlier attempts were interrupted due to the risk to the team's safety in the bad weather. The two distressed individuals were lightly dressed, cold, and wet. They had been stuck on the mountain side near the top of Norway's third highest mountain, Store Skagastølstind, which is 2,405 meters high, since Thursday evening.
It is only possible to reach the top by climbing, and the man and woman had failed, in bad weather with rain and wind, to get back down after their ascent. They alerted the police themselves late on Thursday evening.
