Swedish boat manufacturer Nimbus Group has decided to close its two production facilities in Kuopio and Larsmo. The decision means that around 140 employees will be laid off. However, most of the employees have been on leave of absence since earlier, the company writes in a press release.
"The market for small boats has been very weak since the pandemic and we have therefore incurred significant losses in the segment over several quarters. A few years ago, Nimbus Group began to focus on premium boats and to strengthen this effort, we are making this change", the company writes in the press release.
