The Social Democrats are reporting Minister for Civil Defence Carl-Oskar Bohlin (M) to the Riksdag's Constitutional Committee (KU).

The reason is that the Social Democrats want all communication between the government and the Agency for Psychological Defence (APD) to be put on the table after the TV4 programme Kalla Faktas exposé about the Sweden Democrats' anonymous accounts.

This smells really, really bad, says Morgan Johansson (S) to TV4.

The APD reported the programme to the Review Board in May and wanted interviews with the agency's representatives to be removed. After criticism, the APD revised its report – demanding that content be removed can conflict with the Freedom of Expression Act and the Review Board does not have that mandate.

The website Altinget has reported that the APD informed the Ministry of Defence in advance that it was considering making a report and that it "at minimum" intended to demand that TV4 remove the audio clips.

The APD's Director-General Magnus Hjort has previously told DN that the report "was not discussed at all" with the government.

Carl-Oskar Bohlin has also responded in writing to a question from the Social Democrats in the Riksdag that there was no dialogue between him and the APD. He added, however, that the agency informed the Government Offices about its intentions to act.

"The Ministry of Defence has not in any way influenced the Agency for Psychological Defence in this matter", writes Bohlin on X.

The Minister wonders how it would have looked if the department had actually interfered with the agency's media management.

"In short, the Ministry of Defence has in this case acted as dull and square as a department is expected to."
