It didn't quite get going for Ludvig Åberg in the PGA tour's final event at East Lake outside Atlanta, Georgia.

The third round was indeed stable and good, without a single bogey. But 68 strokes for the day, after three birdies, meant that Åberg barely moved in the results list. He is tied for tenth place on –11, with 18 holes left to play.

It's far too long a way to the top for the Swedish golf star to be able to challenge during Sunday's conclusion.

American world number one Scottie Scheffler retains his grip on the lead and leads on –26, five strokes ahead of second-placed and compatriot Collin Morikawa.

The top 30 on the Fedex Cup ranking are playing the final, whose format has been debated prior to the tournament. Scheffler got to start the tournament on ten under par and the players were then ranked in descending order, where the lowest-ranked players started on par. Åberg started as fifth on five under par.

The winner takes home a check of approximately 255 million kronor (25 million dollars).
