Now, the Lazio public has also gotten to pay tribute to Sven-Göran Eriksson after he passed away from cancer on Monday.
The match against Milan at home at the Olympic Stadium in Rome was preceded by a poignant ceremony to commemorate "Svennis", the extremely popular coach who led Lazio to the club's second Italian league title in the 1999-2000 season.
After Eriksson revealed his cancer diagnosis in the spring, Lazio was one of many former clubs he managed to visit.
"Svennis" was 76 years old and passed away at his home outside Sunne, surrounded by his family.
