When Sweden's men's national handball team met Egypt behind closed doors on Wednesday, it ended in a draw. But when the teams clashed two days later in Eskilstuna, Sweden was a notch sharper. Sweden turned a deficit into a win in the second half, and won the OS dress rehearsal.
At halftime, Sweden was in the lead, and led by two goals. But in the second half, Egypt would both catch up and take the lead early.
Sweden, however, had a final answer. With a quarter left, the defense tightened, and the tempo increased. Glenn Solberg's national team regained its lead, and eventually won with 32–26.
Thus, Sweden won its last international match before the OS premiere against Germany in nine days. Despite this, Felix Claar did not give the performance more than a pass.
So, it's an okay performance. A passing performance, not much more than that. It's an international match against Egypt, which is a good nation, and we win in the end with a couple of goals. So, an okay performance, says Claar in Max's broadcast.
The OS handball takes place between July 25 and August 11.
