Four Swedish members of the criminal network Dödspatrullen have been sentenced to prison in Finland for aggravated drug offenses.

In total, 22 people are being sentenced in a comprehensive drug bust.

The criminal network smuggled in over 300 kilos of drugs and over one million narcotic tablets in Finland, according to the preliminary investigation, reports Svenska Yle.

Nearly thirty men were suspected of participating in the smuggling. The nine main suspects were sentenced to prison terms of between six and ten years for aggravated drug offenses.

The four men who are part of the Swedish criminal network Dödspatrullen were sentenced to the longest sentences, between six and ten years, according to Hufvudstadsbladet. Ten years is the maximum sentence for aggravated drug offenses in Finland.

The network is said to have smuggled the narcotics via mail and in a truck in 10 shipments. The truck is said to have crossed the border between Finland and Sweden in Tornio, and the narcotics were distributed further to Oulu and the Helsinki area.

The transports were handled by two drivers. One of them told in an interrogation that he picked up several boxes of marijuana and narcotics from a garage in Södertälje, reports Svenska Yle with reference to the preliminary investigation.
