Thousands of people have been evacuated from their homes and schools have been closed in Taiwan, where they are waiting for the arrival of Typhoon Gaemi. It is feared to be "the strongest" to hit the island in eight years.
One person has already died and nearly 60 have been injured, according to the authorities.
Gaemi, with sustained winds of over 52 meters per second, is expected to reach Taiwan during the afternoon Swedish time. President Lai Ching-Te has urged the public to prioritize safety.
