The Ramstein group, consisting of countries that coordinate military aid to Ukraine, will meet again on Friday. The group of countries, informally led by the US Defense Minister Lloyd Austin, will meet at the American military airbase Ramstein in Germany.
Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelenskyj may possibly attend the meeting. Kiev has not announced Zelenskyj's attendance, but rather that he will meet the German Chancellor Olaf Scholz in Frankfurt, Germany.
In Ramstein, the US will also be represented by the country's highest military officer, Charles Brown, which shows the weight the US places on the cooperation.
Sweden will be represented by Defense Minister Pål Jonson (The Moderate Party).
The highest priority for the meeting is to coordinate Ukraine's air defense, according to the Pentagon's spokesperson Pat Ryder. The agenda is influenced by the intense and extensive missile attacks carried out by the Russian military across large parts of Ukraine, primarily targeting civilian targets.
Additionally, the Ramstein group will address the issue of how to strengthen support for Ukraine's defense industry.
