On Saturday evening, the European Championship's second round of 16 match is played between Germany and Denmark.

Both teams have received good news ahead of the decisive match.

Germany's central defender Antonio Rüdiger and Denmark's midfielder Christian Eriksen are both expected to be available for play.

Rüdiger sustained an injury in the back of his thigh in the final stage of Germany's concluding group stage match against Switzerland (1–1).

The Real Madrid star missed several training sessions due to the injury, but was back on the training pitch on Friday.

We're happy to have Rüdiger back, and unless something special happens, he can play tomorrow, said Germany's national team coach Julian Nagelsmann ahead of Saturday's round of 16.

A relief for Germany, which previously had central defender Jonathan Tah suspended after receiving two yellow cards in earlier matches.

Denmark's national team coach Kasper Hjulmand announced during the day that Christian Eriksen missed Friday morning's training due to stomach problems. Thomas Delaney has been affected by the same.

The duo traveled separately from the rest of the team to Dortmund, where the round of 16 match will be played. But Eriksen has already recovered and Hjulmand expects the valuable midfielder to be able to play.

Delaney, on the other hand, will probably not be able to play.

Germany–Denmark is played on Saturday at 21.00. Earlier on Saturday, Switzerland–Italy will meet in the first round of 16.
