"Richard III" at Norrbottensteatern, Hägnan, Luleå
Shakespeare's classic drama about Richard, Duke of Gloucester, who kills everyone to become King of England, is performed in Luleå. Norrbottensteatern turns him into a clown who ultimately stands alone on the battlefield. Performed outdoors at the open-air museum Hägnan.

A newly written musical about how – and at what cost – Sweden was once built. Gustav Vasa hosts a musical with both hip-hop and folk music by Astrid Menasanch Tobieson, Tiffany Kronlöf, and Thom Gisslén.

"Fiddler on the Roof" at Västerbottensteatern, Medleforsparken in Skellefteå
Ronny Danielsson directs and Reuben Sallmander plays the lead role, Papa Tevye, in the classic musical set in a Jewish village in what is now Ukraine. Russian anti-Semitism erupts while Tevye's daughters rebel against their Jewish and traditional father.

"Amadeus" at Skillinge teater, Österlen
In "Amadeus", the last years of Mozart's life are marked by rival Salieri, who cannot stand the younger composer's obvious genius. Skillinge Teater stages a musical production of Peter Shaffer's classic play, which also formed the basis for Milos Forman's film.

"A musical fantasy about Lapp-Nils" at Estrad Norr at Döda fallet in Ragunda
The Sami musician Nils Jonsson from Jämtland lived in the 19th century and became a legend. The musical performance about his life and music is one of Estrad Norr's largest ventures and had its premiere last year. This summer, it returns to the outdoor stage at Döda fallet.

"Private Lives" at Teater Tofta at Tofta herrgård in Kungälv
Noël Coward's 1930s drama is about a divorced couple who, on their honeymoon with their new partners, discover they have checked into the same hotel – next door to each other. Now, problems arise.

"Three Sisters" at Hagestad sommarteater, Österlen
In a barn in Skåne's Hagestad, Chekhov's drama about three sisters and their attempts to cope with reality is performed. Gustav Denioff, artistic director at Unga Klara in Stockholm, directs and, together with the actors Astrid Kakuli, Emilie Strandberg, and playwright Stefan Larsson, is one of the initiators of the newly started summer theatre.
