The two newcomers to Allsvenskan met in a sunny Västerås. It was Gais who broke the deadlock in the first half - with a really stylish goal. Gustav Lundgren got the ball on the edge, dribbled past and slammed it into the net 1-0.
Before the half was over, Axel Henriksson had time to head in a free kick to 2-0 and Lundgren played Alexander Ahl Holmström through on the flank, who tapped in 3-0.

But Västerås would make a match of it in the second half.
Abdelrahman Boudah reduced the deficit with a penalty in the 57th minute and with five minutes left of regular time, Viktor Granath headed in another reduction.
In stoppage time, Västerås thought they had equalized. Boudah headed in 3-3 but the referee disallowed the goal for a push in the penalty area.
Boudah was not satisfied with the decision afterwards.
