The video, released by the police in Miami, shows how Tyreek Hill is stopped for a control before the NFL premiere on Sunday.

The images show how the 30-year-old - who is one of the biggest stars in American football - is laid down on the street by traffic police while having his arms behind his back and his hands in handcuffs.

"Get out of the car"

The police's video, which has been published by, among others, CNN, shows how one of the police officers approaches the car and asks why Hill does not have his seatbelt on, and Hill asks in turn why the police are tapping on his window. He also hands over his driver's license.

"Just give me the fine so I can go. I'm going to be late for the match", says the NFL star.

Hill rolls up the window again, whereupon the police order him to put it down.

"Keep the window down or I'll pull you out of the car. Or, get out of the car, I'm not going to play this game", says the police officer.

Shortly afterwards, one of the traffic police's colleagues comes and opens the car door, grabs Hill's neck, pulls him out, and together with several other police officers, gets him down on the street.

Hill says afterwards that he was shocked by the event.

I didn't move so fast because I have injuries, I have things I'm being treated for, he says to CNN.

Taken out of service

He also says that he rolled up the window again because fans were driving past the location. In another interview with NBC, Hill admits that he may have been driving too fast.

The Miami police later stated that one of the police officers involved in the arrest of Hill has been temporarily taken out of service.

At the same time, police organizations in Florida have defended the police's intervention.
