You may have heard of Turning Torso in Västra Hamnen, Malmö, which was built between 2001-2005. Turning Torso is 193 meters high and has 52 floors, and was for a long time the tallest recidential building in Sweden.
Karlatornet in Gothenburg
Karlatornet will be completed in 2024 (fully in 2026) and is Sweden's and the Nordic region's tallest building. Karlatornet has 74 floors and is 246 meters high. With its 74 floors, Karlatornet accommodates 611 apartments, a hotel, offices, and a sky bar. Karlatornet is the starting point for Karlastaden in Gothenburg, where several high-rise buildings will be built, including Cassiopeja with 43 floors, Auriga with 36 floors, and Virgo with 27 floors. There are 611 apartments of various sizes, ranging from one-bedroom apartments of 25 sqm to apartments spanning three floors and nearly 400 sqm. As expected, the list of the world's tallest residential buildings is topped by the two cities of New York and Dubai. The only Chinese city, Ningbo, is in sixth place on the top 10 list.
