Woman acquitted of gang murder – but convicted of attempted

She was the first woman in Sweden to be prosecuted as a shooter in a gang murder.

The woman had arranged to meet the teenage boy in the Marielund district to buy a pair of headphones. She denies the murder and claims that she met the boy and was at the scene, but that someone else fired the shot.

Too weak evidence

The lawyer has previously stated that the prosecution should be dismissed and that the woman is too short to have fired a shot at the correct angle that hit the significantly taller victim in the eye.

The district court assesses that "it is not beyond reasonable doubt" that it was the woman who fired the shot. Decisive in the assessment is that there are no witnesses to the actual shooting and no technical evidence linking the woman to the murder.

The boy's name was on a detailed list that was circulated among "enemies" from a rival network to the so-called Kalonetwork in Norrköping.

Shootings at apartments

The case also concerns shootings at two apartment doors on two consecutive November evenings, where others on the list lived. Both adults and children were in the apartments.

For one of the shootings, the woman is convicted of attempted murder and serious weapons offenses. She admits to holding the weapon but did not intend to harm.

Regarding the other, a 16-year-old boy is sentenced to closed youth care for one year and four months for serious weapons offenses and accessory to attempted murder. A 24-year-old man is also sentenced to 14 years in prison for attempted murder, serious weapons offenses, and preparation for serious assault.

Since last May, there have been several violent incidents linked to the conflict in Norrköping.
