Strong reactions are pouring in after the shooting at Donald Trump's campaign meeting in Pennsylvania.

"Sweden stands behind the USA and wishes Donald Trump a speedy recovery", writes Sweden's Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson on X.

A long line of American politicians, both Democrats and Republicans, have sent greetings to Donald Trump and the other victims of the shooting.

Tesla CEO Elon Musk writes on X that he fully supports Donald Trump, which is also seen as him wanting to see him as president.

Pennsylvania's Democratic Governor Josh Shapiro writes, also on X, that violence directed at politicians or political parties is unacceptable.

"It has no place either in Pennsylvania or the USA", writes Shapiro.

Obama condemns

Even former President Barack Obama condemns the act.

Donald Trump Jr, one of the former president's sons, writes that his father "will never stop fighting to save America" while his sister Ivanka Trump thanks the police and security services for their efforts.

"I love you, Dad, today and always", she writes on X.

A large number of world leaders from other countries are also reacting to the act. British Prime Minister Keir Starmer writes on X that he is "horrified by the shocking scenes", while Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán writes that he is thinking of and praying for Donald Trump.

"Sweden stands behind the USA"

"Sweden condemns the terrible attack in Pennsylvania. My thoughts go to those who have been affected and to their families. Sweden stands behind the USA and wishes Donald Trump a speedy recovery", writes Sweden's Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson on platform X.

Canada's Justin Trudeau, Brazil's Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva, Argentina's Javier Milei, India's Narendra Modi, and Israel's Benjamin Netanyahu are also among those sending greetings.

"Once again, we have witnessed unacceptable violence against political representatives", says EU Foreign Minister Josep Borell.

The Kremlin condemns violence

Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelenskyj says he is horrified by the event and wishes Trump a speedy recovery.

"There is no justification or place for this type of violence. Violence must never prevail".

The Kremlin condemns, via spokesperson Dmitrij Peskov, "all violence in connection with political competition". Peskov sends condolences to "the family of the victim who died in the attack", and wishes the injured a speedy recovery.

Both Peskov and the Russian Foreign Ministry believe that the attack was expected.
