Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelenskyj states that it would mean "hard work" for his country if Donald Trump is elected as the USA's president in November.

But we are not afraid of hard work, says Zelenskyj in an interview with BBC during his visit to the United Kingdom.

Trump has appointed his running mate JD Vance as his candidate for the vice presidential post – a senator who previously expressed that he does not care about how things go for Ukraine, one way or the other.

He may not really understand what is going on in Ukraine. But we must work with the USA, responds Zelenskyj to the question of what he thinks about Vance's previous statement.

Ukraine has not yet received any F-16 fighter jets, which were promised by several Western leaders for the summer.

It has been 18 months and the plan has not reached us, says Zelenskyj.

He says that he is grateful for the support Ukraine has received to be able to defend itself against Russia's aggressive war, but emphasizes that fighter jets are necessary to break Russia's dominance in the air.
