The German politician Björn Höcke, leader of the nationalist party AFD in the state of Thüringen, has been convicted for the second time for using slogans from the Nazi era.
As recently as in May, Höcke, who is running for prime minister in Thüringen in September, was sentenced to pay a fine equivalent to approximately 150,000 kronor for chanting the old Nazi slogan "All for Germany" during an election rally in 2021.
Now, he has been convicted again by a court in Halle in eastern Germany to pay 130 daily fines equivalent to 1,500 kronor for using the same phrase during a party meeting in December last year.
The 52-year-old Höcke, a former history teacher who is now one of the most well-known and extreme representatives of the far-right party, has denied the allegations and claims that he was not aware that the expression was used by Hitler's SA forces.
