Poor weather in Central Europe and North America affected Husqvarna's results during the second quarter. The company, with significant sales of lawn mowers and irrigation products, reports a sharply reduced operating profit, down from nearly 4.5 billion kronor in the same quarter last year to 3.8 billion.
The net sales decreased simultaneously by twelve percent to 30.1 billion kronor.
"As the quarter progressed, the business was however negatively affected by the continued challenging macroeconomic environment and the resulting cautious consumption. This, combined with unfavorable weather conditions in Central Europe and North America, which had a significant impact on Gardena's irrigation segment, led to the Group's organic sales decreasing", the company writes in the interim report.
