Anna Beck was completely superior when she took the World Championship gold in the time trial in paracycling in Zurich. Already at the turning point after barely a mile of cycling, the Swede led by more than a minute and in the end, the victory margin was two minutes and 41 seconds. Jamie Whitmore from the USA took the silver.
Beck competes in class C3 and has previously taken three World Championship golds in the time trial – 2018, 2021, and 2023. Now, the road to gold was a bit easier than usual since a few tough competitors were absent for various reasons.
Recently, the 44-year-old Beck took bronze in the Paralympics in Paris, where the competition was all the tougher since three different classes were merged.
