Cult band Bob Hund is quitting – gives farewell concert

Bob Hund is quitting playing. On August 30, 2025, the cult band will perform their last show ever when they take the stage at Zinkensdamms IP in Stockholm. Now we're putting everything we have on one card, says singer Thomas Öberg to Dagens Nyheter.

The farewell concert takes place just a stone's throw from the rehearsal studio where Bob Hund took their first steps together.

This is absolutely the last chance for everyone who has been wondering if they might want to see a Bob Hund concert, a real rock concert with a riot fence, and the last chance for everyone who has already seen us play 115 times, says Jonas Jonasson in the group, to DN.

After forming in 1991, Bob Hund became part of the 1990s Swedish indie pop scene, where the center was Skånegatan in Stockholm. But the band differed from its contemporary rivals by drawing influences from far and wide, from Iggy Pop, Kraftwerk, and American surf rock from the 1960s, and then blending it all with a clear Scanian flavor in singer Thomas Öberg.

Bob Hund first became big in student circles and reached a breakthrough in 1996 with their second album "Omslag: Martin Kann", which gave Thomas Öberg a Grammis for the lyrics.

For a period, the group also had an English edition, Bergman Rock.

Since the start, the band has given over 700 concerts, released 15 albums, several EPs, and more than two dozen singles.
