A man in his 40s is being prosecuted for stabbing a teenage boy in a subway car in central Stockholm, which Aftonbladet was the first to report.
According to the indictment, the man unexpectedly held a knife to the boy's throat from behind and then stabbed him in the back when he tried to escape. Prosecutor Charlotte Nordström writes in the indictment that it was a coincidence that the injuries were not life-threatening.
When the train stopped at the subway station at Slussen, the boy managed to flee from the train.
The incident occurred on June 11. The prosecutor believes that statements made by the man the evening after the knife attack suggest that it may be a hate crime.
The man was arrested the day after the incident, when he behaved aggressively and violently at a residence in Västberga in southern Stockholm. According to the indictment, he admits to the sequence of events but denies attempted murder.
