Several people broke into the Systembolaget in Emmaboda during the night against Sunday. The haul was a cash register with cash - but the alcohol was left on the shelves, local media report.
They broke in via the loading dock at the back and stole a safe containing cash equivalent to 85,000 kronor, says Henrik Petersson, duty investigation leader at the police, to Barometern.
Several perpetrators have come and left the scene in a car.
The police have set up vehicle checkpoints after the break-in to catch the suspected perpetrators. By Sunday afternoon, there were no reports of anyone being arrested for the crime.
The police are categorising the incident as theft through break-in.
