Two of the individuals charged with the notorious dine-and-dash incident at a restaurant in Malmö are suspected of new crimes. The 43-year-old alleged main perpetrator and a slightly younger woman with whom the man has children are now also suspected of child marriage offenses.
It was on Christmas Eve that a party of 35 people had dinner at Restaurant Atmosfär in Malmö for 82,000 kronor. When it was time to pay, they got up from the table and left the restaurant in several taxis, without paying.
The investigation later led to suspicion of an additional 20 cases of serious fraud against entrepreneurs. In total, it involves fraud for over one million kronor during the period from August 2022 to March 2024.
The criminal offense of child marriage was introduced on July 1 last year and means that it is punishable to induce or allow a child to enter into a marriage or a marriage-like relationship.
