Theater Fryshuset is threatened with closure, after nearly 15 years of operation, reports Dagens Nyheter. The theater is touring and performs plays based on real stories with themes about, among other things, vulnerable groups and social issues.
We have always received support from the Cultural Council, the Cultural Administration of Stockholm City and County, but the last two years we have not received anything. No motivation, just rejection, says Ulf Stenberg, one of two artistic leaders of the theater, to the newspaper.
Fryshuset has saved us for two years, but this time it won't be the case. If we don't find a financier during the fall, it's over.
The theater operates under the umbrella organization Fryshuset as a non-profit foundation.
Theater Fryshuset has previously collaborated with Dramaten in productions such as "Fakk alla".
