The Danish Foreign Ministry is tightening its travel advisory to Israel. The reason is the escalating conflict with the Shia militia Hezbollah in Lebanon.
The advisory had previously applied to all non-essential travel, but is now being upgraded to apply to all travel to the country.
The travel advisory comes after Iran-backed Hezbollah is said to have fired 200 rockets and explosive drones at Israeli positions in the border area with Lebanon and against the Israeli-occupied Golan Heights.
According to the Danish Foreign Ministry, the security situation in Israel can deteriorate with "no or very short notice".
It is unclear whether Sweden will also tighten its travel advisory to Israel. The Foreign Ministry writes in a comment to TT:
"A travel advisory decision is based on a comprehensive assessment of several factors. The Foreign Ministry has close contact with our foreign authorities and makes a continuous assessment of the security situation in the country."
