The knee injury stopped Novak Djokovic in the French Championships.

But for Wimbledon, the star is game-ready – partly thanks to a Swedish football legend.

I asked Zlatan Ibrahimovic, says the Serb ahead of the Grand Slam tournament.

Novak Djokovic turned and won the eighth-final against Argentine Francisco Cerundolo.

Then it was game over in Paris.

A knee injury forced the 37-year-old to withdraw from the tournament – and a couple of days later, he had undergone surgery.

"I will do my best to get healthy and ready to return to the court as soon as possible", he wrote on Instagram.

It has gone quickly.

Djokovic is back on the tennis court and after a training match against Daniil Medvedev, he is ready for next week's Wimbledon.

"Today, I felt no pain and that makes me happy. It was a good test against one of the best players in the world", he says to Sky Sports.

During rehabilitation, he asked other stars about their experiences of knee injuries.

Djokovic says he talked to Stan Wawrinka, Lindsey Vonn, and Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

Everyone was very kind and shared their experiences and helped me get in touch with people who could help me, he says.

Novak Djokovic has won Wimbledon seven times, most recently in 2022.
