Last week, he won the Stanley Cup with Florida – now, defenseman Oliver Ekman-Larsson is clear for Toronto, writes the Canadian club on its site.
The contract is for four years and worth approximately 37 million annually.
The 32-year-old from Karlskrona began his career in Allsvenskan Tingsryd in the 2007/2008 season and then played in Leksand before leaving Sweden for the NHL in 2010.
During the past season in Florida – which was crowned with the Stanley Cup after a seventh and decisive match against Edmonton – he accounted for a total of 32 points, including nine goals and 23 assists.
In Toronto, he will be teammates with several other Swedes, including star forward William Nylander.
