After a comprehensive police operation – where the national bomb squad participated – only a few police cars remain early on Friday morning.
We are largely done with the technical investigation on site. Now it remains to continue knocking on doors and gathering more information, says police spokesperson August Brandt.
No one was physically injured in connection with the explosion that occurred in the Linné district. However, the damage to the residential building's door was significant, and the case is being investigated as aggravated general vandalism.
Important leads secured
No one has been arrested, but a dark-clad man was seen leaving the scene shortly after the incident.
According to the police, there are no known connections to gang criminality.
We are highly interested in investigating the motive. Historically, explosions are often linked to various conflicts, but we see no known connections right now, says August Brandt.
He describes the investigation situation as good, where important leads have been secured from the site.
"The whole bed shook"
Nordhemsgatan is located near the pub strip along the long streets in Gothenburg. Normally, there are many people in the area. A person who was sitting at a bar nearby says that the blast was felt throughout their body and then it became completely silent.
A person who lives nearby tells Göteborgs-Posten:
I heard a bang and my whole bed shook.
