In total, six people from a right-wing extremist group in the small town of Kankaanpää are being prosecuted. Two of them are being charged with terrorist crimes. The two, 25 and 29 years old, respectively, have, according to the indictment, trained and prepared themselves to carry out terrorist acts, including bomb attacks on a refugee reception center.

The two deny any wrongdoing and claim that there is no right-wing extremist terrorist cell in Kankaanpää. It is a group of friends from the countryside who are interested in weapons, war games, and explosives and have been joking around, the two men charged with terrorism claim.

The group has had access to large quantities of weapons, including tens of kilograms of dynamite, over 100 kilograms of fertilizer that can be used to manufacture bombs, and over a thousand rounds of ammunition. The members have confessed to an occult, Nazi ideology, according to the prosecutor.

Members of the Kankaanpää cell are also being charged with assault and aggravated assault of transgender individuals.
