The former referee and vice-chairman of the Czech Football Association, Roman Berbr, has been sentenced to three years in prison, according to Czech media reports.
He is also required to pay a fine of over 900,000 kronor and has been banned from football for five years, writes CTK, citing AFP.
This follows Berbr's conviction for embezzling money from a regional football association.
The 69-year-old was acquitted of match-fixing and involvement in organised crime.
Berbr was arrested in 2020 along with 21 other individuals during a raid on the Prague club Slavoj Vysehrad. At the same time, Berbr resigned. His wife, Dagmar Damkova, the first female referee in the Czech Republic, also stepped down from her role on UEFA's referees' committee.
Roman Berbr was a referee in the Czech league before later joining the country's football association.
