He put on COVID-19 just in time for the season premiere and later followed up with a few cracked ribs and a injured thumb.

Then, the long-distance star William Poromaa decided to quickly put the season behind him.

It became a second-place finish on 15 kilometers and a relay victory during the winter. But otherwise, there is a lot from the latest World Cup season that William Poromaa would rather forget.

Not so surprising, perhaps.

The long-distance star crashed heavily in the Swedish premiere in Gällivare in November and had to interrupt the World Cup premiere in Ruka a week later, partly due to pain and partly due to a feeling of illness.

About an hour later, the news came – COVID-19.

It also turned out a few days later that some ribs in his back were broken.

By the end of the season, William Poromaa also suffered a thumb injury in a new crash.

William Poromaa started pre-season training already in early May. Then followed, among other things, a "relocation camp", where skiers with cross-country skis and running took themselves from Ängelholm to Ulricehamn.

In the winter, the big goal is the World Championships in Trondheim in the February-March period.

How do you see your chances? There are quite a few Norwegians who, for example?
