The mediators in the healthcare conflict will present a bid to the parties on Thursday at 11 am. However, it is not known what the bid contains.

The two parties confirm to TT that they are awaiting a proposal from the mediators in the Sobona agreement area. What the bid contains is unknown, but the Swedish Association of Health Professionals' national board "will analyse it carefully", the union writes.

The employer side welcomes the announcement.

We are very positive about finally receiving a mediator's bid so that we can put an end to the conflict, says Ulf Olsson, chairman of the Swedish Association of Local Authorities and Regions' (SALAR) negotiating delegation and Sobona's association board, to TT.

He adds that they have been requesting negotiations and a mediator's bid from the SALAR side for a long time.

Formally, the bid only applies to Sobona's agreement area, but Olsson stresses that the employer side is working together to reach an agreement.

We will, of course, follow this up in SALAR's area as well.

The conflict between the Swedish Association of Health Professionals and the employer side, comprising SALAR and Sobona, has been ongoing since April. What began with an overtime blockade escalated on 4 June, when approximately 2,000 people at several regions went on strike. It was expanded on Tuesday with an additional 1,300 people.

The major stumbling block between the union and employer concerns working hours. The Swedish Association of Health Professionals wants to see a gradual reduction in working hours.

Ekot on Swedish Radio was the first to report on the mediators' bid.
