Producer prices in the USA rose as expected by 1.7 percent in annual terms in August according to a report from the US Department of Labor.
In July, prices rose by 2.1 percent, according to a revised figure.
In monthly terms, producer prices rose slightly more than expected, by 0.2 percent in August. Analysts had expected 0.1 percent according to Bloomberg's compilation.
