The Swedish furniture chain Ikea has decided to reopen its store in the war-torn Ukrainian capital Kiev, reports the English-language newspaper The Kyiv Independent, citing Forbes Ukraine.

The store first opened its doors in February 2021, but was closed after Russia's full-scale invasion a year later.

The information is not confirmed by Ikea, which in an email to TT writes that it cannot currently say when the department store in Ukraine will reopen. "Our top priority before reopening is the safety of our employees and customers. We must also ensure that we have all other operational aspects in place in the country, including product deliveries."
