The family and Joe Biden himself want him to continue in an attempt to be re-elected as president. But doubts about Biden's abilities to handle the job are increasing among voters, according to a new opinion poll.
The survey was conducted by the TV channel CBS and Yougov after Biden's TV debate with Donald Trump on June 27. It shows that 72 percent of the respondents, registered as voters, answered no to the question of whether Biden has the mental and cognitive abilities required for the job of president. At the beginning of June, 65 percent answered no to the same question.
49 percent of the respondents believe that Biden's challenger Donald Trump lacks the mental and cognitive abilities required to be president.
Among Democratic voters, 46 percent believe that he should not stand for re-election, 54 percent that he should. In February, 36 percent answered that he should not stand.
